bday card messages :D

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Dscn9229this is what included in the packaged from dkv-ers I received last week’s sunday morning: a card full bday messages from the dkv-ers.

its’s actually the ‘old’ habbit started by sarey long long time ago.  I forgot whose birthday was that, but she came up with the idea to give the bday people a card with message from the rest of dkv-ers.  and every one of the dkvers had a bday, we usually did that, especially if he/she is one the 24 hour person around dkv :p

and since I’m the one who always at dkv, and somehow remembers the bday dates of most of the dkv-ers, especially the young guns, then it became my habbit to prepare the cards, even to ones that used to teach here or special contribution to dkv (such as icus, ailing & vera).  and sometimes it took days of ‘preparation’ and ’secret’ movement, since we had to pass the card around to gather lots of bday messages without being noticed by the bday people will be.  and not everyday you can meet the whole complete faculty, so the action should begin quite long time before the d day..

and it’s became my turn to received one, he he…

daejeon balloon fiesta 2006

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Dscn9356another ‘travelling sanasini’ time, and this time around the expo park to see the daejeon world ballon fiesta 2006, last sunday.

the area was flock with people, even the streets around the expo park were jammed with cars.  there were many attractions besides the balloon (the balloons were started to operate around 5.00pm), and nearby there were paragliding attractions too.

for the photos of the events, just visit here or here.

kawaii dog.. :D

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Dscn9340another korean habbit to spoil their pets..  they like to dress up their dogs using various clothes and sometime follows the fashion trend.  this photo was taken last sunday, in the cold fall season, and may be the clothes also served as the way to warm up the dog..

even my professor said that she also liked to dress up her dog with clothes.  in the world cup event, she put the "reds go together" shirt.  even the dog once dressep up as superman!

bazaar at daedeok innopolis

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Img_2363this is a story a before lebaran day, the previous saturday, when we (me,  margaret & beny) went to the bazaar for foreigner held by the sem (a church based activities) at the daedeok innopolis near the expo park.

what made the bazaar so special, since it provided lots of goods -especially the winter clothes- in a very cheap price.  there were only two prices: icheonwon (2000 won, around 20 thousand rupiah) for the ‘big’ sized clothes and the rest were flat cheonwon (1000 won)..

so here I posed with my cheonwon jacket :p

at the bazaar, there also indonesian reuni, since we also met with other students: three from daejeon univ (edo, nana and tia as cultural exchange students), three from woosong (me, beny and margaret), two from KAIST (mas agustinus dan mbak florence, both are couple), two+ from ICU (mas boni & mbak nuri -they are also couple and houari) and one from KINS (mas yudi).  because there were many indonesians, so we made ourselves an indonesian corner, a place where we gather all of our shopping things - and the winner are margaret and mbak nuri, he he..

first lebaran in the faraway land..

Dscn9201different country, different culture, different situation, and a very different way of celebrating your religious day…

a week before, we suspected that the iedul fitr day would arrive on monday.  so when prof. lee wanted to meet us at monday morning, we told her that monday was the celebration day of iedul fitr and we would like to go to kaist for morning prayer there.  but, on sunday evening, beny came back to dorm with news that the lebaran day was actually fell on tuesday…

so here we are, celebrating the ‘day of winning’ with an ordinary school activity, no special activity, no ‘authentic’ lebaran food (ketupat and opor ayam) or such.  but to feel a little ‘lebaran’ feeling, we just ate my home cookies from family back home.

I think I’m getting used to this kind of situation, although I did miss the ‘lebaran’ feeling…

my surprise bday party…

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Dscn9179sometimes when you are far-far away in the land of million lee - the name came from vera, and I’m just curious where she got that name to called this land of ginseng, he he.. -, and one day is your ‘big’ day but you didn’t give a damn about it since who’s gonna celebrate that day anyway?

out of sudden, there were messages pop up in my mobilephone (thanks to olia, glen, mbak nuri and mas boni, and family back at home), a surprise package from dkv-ers -thanks for big boss alva for that :D - complete with the dkv’s typical card of messages, an email from pak pri that really really touching, a package full of ‘lebaran’ cookies from home,  a b’day present from seon u -the assistant from nextdoor that came a week earlier, messages through YM (thanks to houari ‘the momusu lover’ and hendry), even a surprise bday party from the guys and girl at woosong (deep bow to beny, jason, sam, glen, seung bok and margaret) with the big b’day cake (the main photos above), and b’day message from gyu seung and jayeon.  the happiness is completed with a long chat with vera, just this morning :-)

when my age is added one more number, I’m just happy and so thankful that I am surrounded by good and beautiful people.  thanks, yah!  life couldn’t be better…

review of wong karwai’s chungking express

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Dscn9148I bought this chungking express dvd a week ago while browsing for seung bok bday present at e-mart at dunsan dong. and it’s worth the price -since the dvd is on great discount :p - only 5800 won, while another dvd by wong kar wai such as eros or in the mood for love -which also one of the favorite movie of a friend- is quite above that platform.

I’d just write a short review about it, here - inside my multiply site.  but I think, the best way to experience the movie is not by reading the review, but just watch it.  and you’ll know why suddenly I put this movie in the favorite wish list..

now time to hunt in the mood for love, to find out what kind of ‘next level’ wong kar wai had put to his films.. :-)

pucca & hankkumi card

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Dscn9159well, it’s not just an ordinary phonestrap and key chain.  while the pucca is indeed regular keychain (although first I paired her with her boyfriend garu, since they both could kiss each other, but since both are quite big when paired together so I moved garu to my old siemens cellphone), the hankkumi card is a fare bus card that served also as subway tickets.  kawaiina, he he..

hankkumi has several models: with various colors and pictures.  I picked this one since it had a cat (or is it..?) with red colored square to match the earlier red pucca. the card itself cost you around 6000 won (equals to 60 thousand rupiah) and it comes empty in balance. so you just have to give the ajumma who usually sells the cards several thousand more won to make the card working.

so, right now, there are two straps around my cellphone.  and riding the bus is more fun that way, he he..
